Mila

"In October 2010, I adopted a sweet 5 month old FIV+ domestic shorthair kitten named Uma.

I just wanted to take a moment to update you all on how she is and to say thank you for all you do.

We renamed her Mila. I have attached some recent pictures.

My sweet Mila, aka Mimi, has been the shining light of my life. She now has a younger sister Luna, and a brother Onyx, both also adopted.

Mila moved with me to Florida to begin my teaching career, and then to Michigan (my home state). She is still one of the sweetest and most loving kitties ever.

She has had some health problems, chronic stomatitis, and some recurring UTIs and ear infections, but we are working with a great vet to keep her as happy and healthy as we can.

She is so very, very loved.

And to be perfectly honest, she has been my best friend and at times, my light in the dark night. (I was diagnosed with Lyme disease, had to stop teaching, and have been very ill at times.)

From the moment I saw her at the pet store, I knew she was meant to be mine, and I cannot imagine life without her. Her life, and our life, would not be the same if your wonderful organization had not rescued her and her momma off the street. And for that I have to say thank you.

Thank you for our sweet baby!"
