Thank you for your interest in our Foster Care Program. Being a foster parent is a rewarding experience, enabling you to help our most helpless animals get a second chance as they regain health, learn to trust in humans, and acquire social development in preparation for permanent adoption. Forgotten Cats, Inc. provides food, necessary supplies (such as bedding, litter box, food, toys, etc.) and medical care for all fostered animals. Foster parents provide the love, individual attention, and a stress-free environment, as well as a willingness to work with the Foster Care Program Coordinator to give our foster animals the best care possible. As a foster parent, you will be required to keep your foster cats/kittens indoors at all times. By initialing here, you acknowledge that you will abide by these provisions. Initial:

As a foster parent, you are required to keep the foster animal(s) confined to a room that is off-limits to family pets. If you do not have such a set-up, you are ineligible to foster for Forgotten Cats. As a foster parent, you may have an animal in your care for a short period of time (1 week) or an extended period of time (as long as two months or more). This will frequently be determined when you receive an animal to be fostered. However, this amount of time is subject to change depending on circumstances at Forgotten Cats. If you know that you will be on vacation during the period of time you are being asked to foster, you are obliged to inform Forgotten Cats. This will allow us to find the most suitable temporary accommodations for your foster animal. All new foster parents must attend a foster orientation. You will be contacted in regards to the date, time, and location of this orientation. Additionally, while you are caring for foster animals, we may call you from time to time to check on the animals' progress and address any concerns you may have. Should your foster animal become ill while in your care, you are to immediately contact a member of our organization: A contact phone list will be given to you at orientation. We will make arrangements for your foster animal to be seen by one of the veterinarians who donates services to Forgotten Cats at a greatly reduced rate. If foster parents take it upon him/her to seek medical care without first alerting a member of the organization, that foster parent may be liable for payment of the veterinary invoice. As a foster parent, we want you to know that it is occasionally necessary to euthanize animals that have been in foster care. It is a rare occurrence, and is viewed as an option of last resort, but may happen under extreme circumstances.
