Adoption Center Volunteers

Forgotten Cats, as the name implies, helps those cats who are left helpless on the streets to fend for themselves.....Forgotten.....Hungry, cold, and scared, these cats have no clue why their families left them alone and continue to wait patiently for their return. Disappointed, they search for food, destined to become the "Dirty Old Stray" in the video on our website homepage.

Like the Dirty old Stray, most of these homeless cats lose their lives, always hoping to be part of a family again someday. Those more fortunate are rescued by Forgotten Cats and with the dedication and hard work of their volunteers, are put on a journey to a new life.

The final leg of the journey is our adoption centers in Petsmart where Forgotten Cats volunteers spend hours interacting with cats and people to match families with cats that will fill their lives with affection and joy. Finding a responsible, loving home for a homeless cat is one of the most rewarding aspects of animal rescue. We receive so many pictures and stories from families who report of the joy added to their lives by the "Dirty old Stray". Please help us continue this effort by volunteering just 2 hours a week at one of our adoption centers. You can give a cat a second chance. Opportunities include:

• Introducing prospective adopters to cats
• Exercising cats outside of cages
• Feeding cats and cleaning cages as needed
• Answering questions from prospective adopters
• Processing applications
• Adoption Counselling
• Transporting cages and cats for special events
• Volunteer scheduling
• Adoption follow-up phoning
• Coordinating intake
